Consecration of Terra Nova Lodge # 35. October 30, 2010
The Consecration of Terra Nova Lodge # 35 took place on October 30, 2010 at 1:30 pm in the Society of United Fishermen Hall in Eastport, Bonavista Bay. Approximately 100 Masons were present.
The Lodge was opened at 1:30 pm with Airways Lodge # 26 Wor. Master Noel Anthony and his officers in the chairs. WB Anthony welcomed everyone on this historic occasion. He noted that there were Lodges represented from all over the Province. The Grand Lodge delegation led by Most Worshipful Grand Master John A. Peyton was admitted and greeted. After accepting the gavel from WB Anthony the MW Grand Master retired Airways # 26 officers and had Rt. Wor. Bro. Mac Moss led to the East where he addressed the members of Terra Nova Lodge # 35 UD for the last time. WB Moss gave a report on the activities of Terra Nova Lodge for the period of Dispensation. That report indicated that the Lodge had held 9 meetings with Degree work occuring at 6 of these meetings. The Lodge initiated 5 EA, passed 5 FC and Raised two FC to the sublime degree of Master Mason. WB Moss also reported that the Lodge had acquired most of the furnishings and equipment needed to conduct all aspect of its meetings. The Lodge is in a sound financial position after it's first year of operation. Upon passing the Gavel back to Most Worshipful Bro. Peyton, the Consecration Ceremony commenced.
The Consecration Ceremony was then conducted by MW Bro. Peyton and his Grand Lodge officers.

Following the most impressive Consecration ceremony, and an equally impressive Oration by Most Wor. Bro. Dr. Lawrence G. Moss, the Installation of Officers took place. The Installing Master was V. W. Bro. Jack Granville with Rt. wor Bro. Derek Webster acting as Junior Warden and V. Wor. Bro. Geoff Tucker acting as Senior Warden. The list of officers can be found on the Officers Page.
In the evening, there was a cash bar at 6:30 and a Banquet for Masons & their Ladies at 7:00 pm. A wonderful occasion of fellowship that capped a most exciting day.
