Terra Nova Lodge # 35 draws its membership primarily from the Eastport-Glovertown-Terra Nova area. Founding members come from many different Lodges.

The Lodge is sponsored by Airways Lodge # 26 in Gander and has the full support of the Grand Lodge of Newfoundland and Labrador.

At the Annual Communication of the Grand Lodge of Newfoundland and Labrador held in Corner Brook, NL on October 17, 2009, the Grand Master, MW Brother Dr. Lawrence G. Moss indicated, that immediately following the Annual Commuication he would issue a Dispensation to allow Terra Nova Lodge to meet and operate as a Lodge under dispensation until the next Annual Communication. The Lodge would have the authority to receive applications, initiate, pass and raise candidates and other such powers as the Most Worshipful Grand Master may declare in his Dispensation.

The Dispensation was subsequently issued on October 19, 2009 and the Founding Meeting took place on November 18th, 2009 with approximately 90 Masons attending from Lodges all across the Island and from Labrador as well. (See photo gallery)

It is interesting to note that, in the very short history of this Lodge, the Brethren of Terra Nova Lodge # 35 have made substantial donations to Masonic Relief for Cuba, the Haiti Earthquake Relief Fund and the Canadian Human Rights Museum.

The Lodge was Consecrated on October 30, 2010 by Most Worshipful Brother John A. Peyton and his team of Grand Lodge officers. Approximately 100 Masons were in attendance from Lodges from Corner Brook to St. John's to Goose Bay, Labrador. Pictures on the "Consecration" page.
